Classical music fans are in for a treat. After a long wait, Apple Music Classical has a confirmed release date. The premiere of the new app has been announced by those of Cupertino, which in this way expand the range of genres on their music platform.
The first thing to mention is that Apple Music Classical is available for pre-order starting today. via the App Storebut it will be available just starting next March 28. As you will notice, the application will work independently of Apple Music, although it will require a subscription to said service in order to use it.
However, those who are already subscribed to the Apple music service will be able to enjoy Apple Music Classical at no additional cost. Californians explained that this new platform will be accessible to everyone with an individual, family, student or Apple One plan. However, it is not available on the cheap Apple Music Voice subscription.
Apple Music Classical is finally official
As we indicated at the beginning, the wait for Apple’s classical music app it was made to wait longer than desired. In 2021, those from Cupertino bought Primephonic, a streaming music service specialized in the aforementioned genre, and announced its integration with Apple Music through a new application. Its launch had been promised for 2022, but that was not fulfilled.
Fortunately, Apple Music Classical is now official and it will only be a matter of weeks until users can try it out. The interesting thing about this proposal is that aims to be much more than a catalog of classical music. The new app will include curated playlists, biographies of great composers, guides related to key works and exclusive albums.
Apple claims that Apple Music Classical makes more than 5 million tracks available. As for the available reproduction quality, users will be able to enjoy the works up to Hi-Res Lossless with a sampling frequency of 192 kHz at 24 bits. In addition, the company indicates that thousands of recordings are available in spatial audio, so that the experience is more immersive.
Another interesting point to note is that those from the block will provide the Apple Music Classical app with HD portraits of history’s greatest composers. “These images, created by a diverse group of artists, combine historical research with color palettes and artistic references to each period of classical music,” they say.

A couple of important points to keep in mind are that the application requires iOS 15.4 or higher to work, and that from its launch it will be available practically everywhere in the world. The only countries not receiving this new product from day one will be Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China. Nonetheless, Apple promises to release it there in the future.
In principle, Apple Music Classical will be exclusive to Apple devices. Although, beyond the version for iOS, those of Cupertino assure that They plan to launch the platform on Android. However, it will be later. Unfortunately, no further details have been provided about when it might be coming to Google’s mobile operating system.
