Upon completion of his duties with Marvel Studio, James Gunn He already has exclusive dedication to DC Studio, his new home, where he will perform roles in several projects, one of them: Superman Legacy.
Superman: Legacy will be the definitive restart of the DC franchise by Gunn, who assured that he already wrote the story and has not yet defined whether he will direct it.
The film is currently in the casting process and in the absence of the beloved Henry Cavill, the filmmaker thinks of the actor, Pierson Fodé, known for his role on the hit CBS show, The Bold and the Beautiful, which has aired for 36 seasons.
According to Variety, Fodé sent a tape that included a montage of him depicting his Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm in the small town of Moses Lake, Wash, and Gunn liked what he saw.
This wouldn’t be Fodé’s first foray into the world of Supers, as he appeared on The CW’s Supergirl as Gregory Bauer, aka Angus, a villainous figure who set out to torment the hero Dreamer.

Recording delays
The film, which is scheduled to be released in 2025, may suffer from the Hollywood writer’s strike.
A report in The Wrap claims that director James Gunn delivered his first draft of the Superman: Legacy script last week, just days before the Writers Guild of America went on strike.
The movie is currently in the process of casting its characters and won’t start filming until the first quarter of 2024. This would mean the movie would most likely go into production unhindered by the strike, depending on how long it lasts.
However, other DC Studios productions could be affected. Recently announced projects like Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and The Authority, though they don’t currently have publicly known release dates, could push their production deadlines back if the strike were to continue for an extended period of time.
