Blizzard has published a new Diablo IV quarterly report to offer new in-depth details of some of the most important sections of this next installment in the saga. This time he has focused on the various aspects of the game that will define it as a “persistent service“.
in something that it has been emphasized above all it has been in the Seasons, wanting to improve it even more with respect to what was already seen in Diablo II Resurrected and Diablo III. In fact, the mechanics of these will be very similar to that of this third part of the series and it will not take long to see the first of them, since it will be enabled shortly after the launch of the game.
Blizzard’s intention is to publish four seasons a year, which means a new one every three months. All of them will present their exclusive novelties, characteristics, plots, enemies, legendary items and much more, so that players always have the feeling of encountering something new so that the adventures never end in Sanctuary.
In addition, this will serve to incorporate new characters, bring back familiar faces and introduce a multitude of new items to unlock. Of course, if there is something that Blizzard has placed a lot of emphasis on, it is the fact that, as it warned a long time ago, the game will never become a pay-to-winwhich is something that Diablo Immortal has been accused of a lot.
For this we will have the diary of the season, which will have temporary chapters that will have to be completed and will not be easy to carry out, because in them we will have to face a very powerful final boss. Progressing in them will serve to advance in the battle pass, which will be divided into its free version and its paid version.
The one that will not require us to go through the box will give us access to cosmetic sets, a premium currency and power-ups to level up faster. For its part, the version that will cost money will have its own cosmetic items and also the premium currency, nothing more, so that be something optional and never an improvement for those who leave the money.
In short, what Blizzard intends is to reward the dedication of those who spend more time playing, so that the more they play, the better rewards they will get, but the essential thing is that no cosmetic item, either from the battle pass or from the own store, it will modify the statistics and only the appearance of the characters will change.
Regarding the store, what we want to achieve with it is that at all times it perfectly reflects what we buy and how it will look on the characters. In this sense, there will always be a preview to get a better idea and even the most impressive will not be obtained exclusively by payingso we can get hold of them as loot when playing.
On the other hand, some of the sets will belong to a single class, but once obtained they can be used on the rest of the characters on the account that are of the same class. Thus, it is seen that Blizzard is listening to users for the future Devil IV while we are still waiting to know when it will go on sale.
