The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) expanded to 4 thousand 759 Social Security Respiratory Care Modules (MARSS) distributed in 1,525 Family Medicine Units (UMF) nationwide. It also enabled 35 MacroMARSS in 17 states, with the aim of identifying people who present any symptoms of respiratory disease and reduce chains of contagion.
From January 1 to 11, 2022, 497 thousand 481 respiratory attentions have been reported in the country through the MARSS and the MacroMARSS, put into operation on January 9 due to the increase in the number of patients detected with the coronavirus. SARS-CoV-2.

For patients with risk factors and chronic-degenerative diseases that will take their illness at home, Social Security provides them with a kit with medications to counteract fever and discomfort, face masks, a leaflet on the care they should have at home, and an oximeter to regularly monitor oxygenation.
In addition, the Institute, through its family doctors, monitors those patients who have the disease at home. The purpose is to promptly know your state of health during isolation.
In the case of patients with severe symptoms, they will be referred to a Social Security hospital for care.
Care for patients with mild conditions
Meanwhile, the population that presents mild symptoms such as cough, fever, headache or throat, it is recommended that they isolate themselves in their homes and redouble the health measures: correct use of the face mask, hand hygiene, etiquette cough or sneeze, avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth, keep a healthy distance, monitor your vital signs and reduce mobility to break chains of contagion.
