At the opening of this Friday, the exchange rate was listed at 17.45 pesos per dollar, an appreciation of 0.62% compared to the closing price of Thursday registered by the Bank of Mexico.
During the session, the exchange rate reached a maximum of 17.5725 pesos per dollar and a minimum of 17.4205 pesos per dollar, a level not seen since May 3, 2016, according to an analysis by Banco Base.
“The Mexican currency was favored by the advances to increase the debt ceiling in the US, with which the risk of a default by the Treasury was practically annulled, and given the good report on job creation in May in the US , which continues to reflect that the labor market is tight, which could continue to support Mexican exports and the receipt of remittances,” indicated a Monex analysis.
During the session, the exchange rate is expected to trade between 17.40 and 17.55 pesos per dollar, according to Banco Base.
