dollar to peso exchange rate
The exchange rate is listed at 18.80 pesos per dollar at the opening of this Wednesday, January 25, an appreciation of just 0.02% compared to the previous closing registered by the Bank of Mexico.
And, despite the fact that it has been appreciating for three sessions in a row and an accumulated advance of close to 1.1%, the Mexican currency is expected to be “affected by the bad report from the IGAE, which showed that the economy deteriorated towards the end of 2022”, according to the Monex analysis.
In addition, this Thursday the GDP of the United States is published, for which the exchange market is expected to proceed cautiously. “If economic growth is below the 2.6% estimated by specialists, it could increase risk aversion and volatility in the markets.”
During the session, the exchange rate is expected to trade between 18.74 and 18.90 pesos per dollar, according to Banco Base.
