dollar to peso exchange rate
The exchange rate was listed at 17.8469 pesos per dollar, with a loss of 0.17% compared to the closing price on Wednesday registered by the Bank of Mexico.
“The deadlock in debt ceiling talks is raising concerns,” CI Bank said in an analysis note. “As the days of no agreement progress, the tension will increase, with high probability of a significant increase in volatility,” she added.
On Wednesday, Fitch put the country’s “AAA” rating on negative watch as a first step toward a possible downgrade if lawmakers fail to increase the amount the Treasury can borrow before it runs out of money, which could be as soon as next week.
It was expected that during the rest of the session the weight would oscillate in a range of 17.75 to 17.90 per dollar, according to analysts from the local Banco Base.
