The Porsche Taycan, a high-performance electric
The Porsche Taycan is the first 100% electric product of the German brand to be marketed in series. With no less than 4.96 meters in length, this luxury saloon It is somewhat smaller than a Panamera and keeps the height of the set at very low levels with only 1.38 meters.
Since its birth, even before its official presentation, the brand from Stuttgart always wanted to fight with its great rival, Teslaand always with arguments, and as part of that strategy, Porsche has subjected the Taycan to all kinds of tests to stand out on public roads and circuits.
Given this, the brand always maintained that its model could execute strong accelerations almost as many times as the driver wanted, and that is something that has been known beyond various experiments and tests. His best comparison is with the Tesla Model S Performance (formerly known as the P100D), which is a true dragster. But Porsche’s electric Taycan has outdone it.
It has powers of up to 560 kW
However, the truth is that this Taycan has become one of those sports that everyone talks between exclamations. Porsche entered the world of electrics showing that it was capable of producing chills using the high voltage (800V) and without making too much noise, although this doesn’t quite fit…
In two versions, the model has two electric motors (one on each axle) and a peculiarity that no other electric car of this type has: two speed transmission. It is not a conventional box. In fact, the Taycan doesn’t even have a stick shift. You can only select modes R, N and D from a tiny lever to the right of the steering wheel.
It does so with powers up to 560 kW (761 hp) and 1,050 Nm in the Taycan Turbo S and 500 kW (680 hp) and 850 Nm in the Taycan Turbo, contains figures, in both models, with Launch Control overboost. Therefore, it is the most torquey production Porsche in history and the second most powerful of all time (the first is the 918 Hybrid, with 661 kW, 887 hp).
Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds
Weighing 650 kg, the lithium-ion battery with 94.8 kWh capacity will allow them to travel between 381 and 450 kilometers with a single charge in the case of the Turbo, and between 388 and 412 km if we talk about the Turbo S. In terms of charging times, with a super-fast charger, from this year it will accept a maximum power of 350 kW, so its battery could be filled in just a quarter of an hour. Until then, in direct current it accepts a maximum of 270 kW and in alternating current, 11 kW.
It’s an extremely aerodynamic car, with one of the lowest cX of any production car, just 0.22. The Porsche Taycan measures 4.96 meters in length, 9 centimeters less than the Porsche Panamera, with which it does not share a platform or mechanics: it is built on a exclusive architecture for electric cars.
In this way, it achieves scandalous figures, since it announces an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 9.7, in addition to a top speed electronically limited to 260 km/h. The video that we see below is a good proof of its benefits.
