The fight of the LGBTTTIQ+ community for respect and for a more empathetic society continues and is manifested through the Pride march, this time in CDMX.
The Pride march will be held today, June 25, in its LXIV edition. The International LGBTTTTIQ+ Pride Day is commemorated on June 28, which is why different states continuously demonstrate around this important date.
What time does the Pride march start in CDMX?
Today, Saturday, June 25, at 10:00 the march begins, which will travel from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo of the capital. But, what is the route of the 44th march for LGBT pride in CDMX?
This year’s route will seek to highlight several of the most representative points of the city, since the exit will be, as we already mentioned, at the Angel of Independence, and then go through Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, Eje Central, Calle 5 de Mayo and close in the Zócalo of the capital.
What are the recommendations to safely attend the gay pride parade?
Despite this celebration there will still be recommendations to prevent cases of Covid-19. Among them:
- Wear a face mask
- Healthy distance as far as possible
- Antibacterial gel
- Comfortable clothes preferably
- Water or liquid to hydrate
- Sunscreen
- Parasol
- Additional comfortable shoes
The assistance enters an estimated 300 thousand people, according to the Government of Mexico City. In addition, it was announced that they will deploy a security operation with the aim of maintaining security during the right to demonstrate.
Which public transport routes remain closed during the march and what are the transport alternatives?
As announced, the CDMX metro does not plan to cut service. However, in the MB there will be some changes to facilitate the movement.
- Line 3: Service will be suspended in Mina, Hidalgo, Juárez and Balderas. The circuits in which it will operate are from Tenayuca to Buenavista (north section) and from Cuauhtémoc to Pueblo Santa Cruz Atoyac (south section).
- Line 4: Buenavista, Cuauhtémoc Delegation, México Tenochtitlán, Plaza de la República, Glorieta de Colón, Museo de San Carlos, Hidalgo and Bellas Artes will remain closed. It will operate from Teatro Blanquita to San Lázaro and Alameda Oriente (north route), and from the Public Defender’s Office to San Lázaro (south route).
- Line 7: from 04:30 to 09:00 hours the service from Chapultepec to Campo Marte will be suspended. It will operate from La Diana to Indios Verdes and La Villa Children’s Hospital.
- From 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the stations that will not provide service are from El Ángel to Campo Marte and will operate from Indios Verdes / Hospital Infantil la Villa to La Palma.
- From 10:00 to 12:00 there will be no service from Paris to Campo Marte, while it will operate from Indios Verdes / Hospital Infantil la Villa to Glorieta de Colón.
- From 12:00 to 18:00 hours the stations from Hidalgo to Campo Marte will remain closed and will operate from Indios Verdes / Hospital Infantil la Villa to Glorieta Violeta.
