Airoheart rescues the essence of The Legend of Zelda:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was released by Nintendo more than three decades ago.. To be precise in November 1991 in Japan, in North America in April 1992 and in Europe in September 1992. This action-adventure game was a success in its time, due to the characteristics that it presented distinguished it as one of the best games in the series. In fact, the critics and the public considered that this installment of Nintendo was really one of the best not only of the franchise, but of all time. Although, of course, the standards in the video game industry have been changing over time.
But the truth is that many of these features are still used in The Legend of Zelda games. For example, the dynamism in the world (both light and dark), dungeons of various levels, items and weapons such as the Master Sword and Throwing Hook.
Of course, it’s hard to believe that so long after the release of this installment it is still inspiring some of the most interesting and significant work related to the franchise. Although, they are usually fans demonstrating their love for the saga with fan arts where they portray Link in one of the most risky adventures or Princess Zelda in a scenario quite suitable for the mission, to mention some of the works that we can find touring The Legend of Zelda forums; or cosplays that have definitely marked a before and after for the franchise (as we recently saw one of the Guardian of Breath of the Wild made by a fan expert in costumes); however, there are also other ways to remember Link’s iconic story throughout a long-running saga.
The game inspired by The Legend of Zelda saga
So how else could you remember? The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past? The answer is simple: with a new game inspired by this installment. The idea is quite exciting considering that it is a different option from the traditional indie shooting games of the franchise, although with its best elements included. This version of the adventure game will soon be available for you to try on your console or PC. It’s called Airoheart and it has taken up some of the classic features of the third installment of The Legend of Zelda. And while it’s not quite ready for you to try yet, the good news is that it’s about to hit every fan’s device.
Pixel Heart Games and Soedesco is the team in charge to carry out this great project that emerged as a tribute to the most successful adventure games of its time. Thus, the company’s announcement indicates that Airoheart will launch on September 30, 2022. And it will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
In relation to the information of the game, the story will focus on the land of Engard, from where the hero (known as Airoheart) will experience the adventure in his own flesh after making an extensive journey to stop his brother’s evil plans, free the evil himself to unleash one of the worst wars the world has ever seen through the power of the Draoidh Stone.
Here is the official trailer for Airoheart:
Of course, the details of the title have a fairly close relationship with the game in which it is inspired, especially since it rescues the classic graphics that we saw in The Legend of Zelda for years. In fact, it even shows the typical grass that appears in the different installments of the saga, so it gives the impression of being in a gameplay directly from the franchise. Although, of course, the renewal of a traditional concept could involve many references or even unexpected details.
Maybe this is the team’s chance to show that this version of The Legend of Zelda has its own thing, even if there isn’t an update to the format. However, RPG fans could be satisfied with this installment.
Finally, it should be remembered that the Australian developers have been working on the project since 2017, but after a few years they are finally ready for its launch with cymbal and hype.
