Check out the rejected Deadpool concept art that would have made the Ryan Reynolds movie something very different.
Deadpool fell in love with the public, from the performance of Ryan Reynolds, the costume that takes up the one from the Marvel comic, and the direction of Tim Miller. But now we know that in one of the first sketches of the Merc with a Mouth that was submitted to 20th Century Fox, the costume was very different. According to this concept art, Deadpool could have been very different.
According to the ComicBook.com portal, in 2013, when Tim Miller had not yet been appointed as director of the film, the producer was considering other proposals, one of them was Jeff Wadlow (writer and director of Kick-Ass 2), and this one, In partnership with conceptual artist Kelton Cram, he presented a suit proposal very different from the one we know.
Kelton Cram, who has worked on movies like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and X-Men: First Class, had in mind that Deadpool’s first costume would be hand-assembled from scrap parts like biker materials, so that little by little Little will evolve to something more pro. And in that first design Deadpool’s expressive and unrealistic eyes were eliminated.
What do you think? Would it have worked?
