It will be manufactured by a New Zealand company that intends to create a hybrid hypercar with a level of performance similar to that of cars in the highest category of international motorsport. It will not be approved by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and can only be driven on a competition circuit. Below all the details.
It will be made by a New Zealand company that intends to create a hybrid hypercar as fast as a Formula 1. Its figures promise to be truly abysmal and when it is ready for the first ignition it is expected to confirm its level of performance. One caveat, it can only be driven on a race track due to its degree of development and, therefore, it will not be approved by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to be driven on the street.
This is a signature project Rodin Cars, which more than three years ago revealed the creation of a sports car with 1,176 horsepower, and which will weigh only 698 kilos. Through an official statement, David Dicker, founder of the company, has warned that this car will be manufactured “without restrictions of road laws or regulations of the racing series, it means that it can be developed without limits, which allows performance that would otherwise be unattainable.”
The hypercar in question will be called Rodin FZERO, and as the factory clarified, “it is the maximum performance representation of a vehicle”. “Without the constraints of building a car to a set of rules, we can make the car lighter, more powerful and produce significantly more downforce,” the note said.
Rodin Cars He warned that with this car he defies any type of speed regulations. “The only ones we are up against are the laws of physics, and we have even pushed them to the absolute limit. We look forward to bringing the most intense driving experience imaginable to tracks around the world.”
What will the Rodin Zero hypercar look like?
Another outstanding aspect is the aerodynamics, which is expected to generate a load of 4,000 kilos and a reduced weight thanks to the use of carbon. However, the main point of this machine lies in its driving heart: a V10 hybrid block that weighs only 132 kilos, associated with a 130 kW (174 hp) electric motor. In total, it is set to reveal no less than 1,176 horsepower and 1,026 Nm, developed between the New Zealand manufacturer and specialist Neil Brown Engineering.
It will have an 8-speed gearbox, weighing 66 kilos; 18-inch Oz wheels specially manufactured according to F1 standards; Avon slick tires. In addition, the mechanical part is completed with 380-millimeter carbon-ceramic brakes both at the front and at the rear. Its measurements: it will have a length of 5.50 meters, a width of 2.20 meters and a height of 1.13 meters. Its maximum speed?: It will exceed 360 kilometers per hour.
How much is the Rodin Zero?
Although the company confirmed that it has already enabled the instance to make reservations for this hypercar, did not provide details on its value. However, we could venture that it will be more than high, added to the fact that it will have a limited production of 27 copies that will be ready for next summer. You want it?
