Through a series of videos on TikTok, they show the practices of the so-called “dinosaur” companies, those companies that refuse to update.
The arrival of the pandemic left, as a consequence, a significant growth in digitization; however, there are companies that have not made that leap.
The “dinosaur” companies are, in the words of a tiktoker, those that maintain very obsolete ideas and somehow they refuse to update.
One of the great effects caused by Covid-19 was, without a doubt, the growth in unemployment. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), published in September 2020 and cited by Statistaa total of 1,000 million full-time jobs were lost globally, with the American continent being one of the regions that suffered the most from the economic crisis derived from the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
In Mexico, until the end of 2021, data from the National Survey of Occupation and Employment carried out by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi)reveal that around two million people lost their jobs, a figure that represents 3.96 percent of the economically active population (EAP).
The situation in today’s world is still complex, especially when, after two years of serious cases of Covid-19, companies prepare to reactivate and return to their daily activities, taking into account that outside there is a great demand for get a job.
Today, with the great technological advance that we have, even within reach, it is clear that we live in a moment in history in which different habits changed after the health emergency.

Thus, in these times, we talk about this hybrid model that mixes face-to-face work and home office, and, above all, we talk about how to take advantage of advanced technology for the benefit of workers.
However, despite this, there are still companies that refuse to update and maintain practices that are currently obsolete or “Jurassic”, as defined by a tiktoker.
His name in the Chinese social network is ARHU Human Areaa user who, through a series of videos (four, so far) details some of the practices of those companies that he considers “Jurassic” or “dinosaur”.
According to what ARHU Human Area reveals, among the practices of “dinosaur” companies are:
- 100 percent face-to-face work: since employees are “more productive” compared to the home office.
- “juntitis”: that is, those companies that, according to the tiktoker, any situation must be resolved or dealt with through a meeting with the entire work team, despite the fact that there are technological tools that help maintain better control of various activities.
- Printed CV: that is, companies that, in these times of digitization, ask the worker or applicant to bring their printed CV as a requirement.
- Punctuality bonuses.

We live in a context in which technology has managed to replace old habits that were previously deeply rooted and, in the workplace, these have also been implemented in various companies.
Digitization, in this sense, is a great tool for companies at a time when they seek to be more practical and even leave less damage to the environment.
