Emotional well-being in companies has generated a trend in the creation of vacancies based on hobbies and passions.
A new trend is growing around the world and generating great expectations among the youngest in the labor market, those of Generation Z who are beginning to find within their passions and routine activities a potential to earn money, a new way of working through their hobbies; with more people prioritizing their emotional well-being over their financial one, Companies have found a new marketing strategy coupled with Human Resources… An example of this pioneering success occurred this week in Argentina, where a mattress company launched a “dream job” and managed to attract the attention of nearly 5,000 applicants in less than 24 hours.
And it is that work is one of the most demanding daily activities in everyone’s life, so choosing a profession or trade to which you want to dedicate time and patience for months and years is not an easy choice. It is not for nothing that seven out of ten workers globally feel demotivated with their work, a figure that analysts and experts seek to reduce with the dissemination of academic information and deep vocational guidance for new generations.
Within these studies, there are theories that are gaining more and more ground by focusing attention on people who manage to bring their favorite hobby or pastime to the “injection” of professional life, that is, those who manage to earn a living doing an activity that they are passionate about, amused or relaxed, something that does not involve an effort, but rather a rewarding exercise.
It all ends in a relevant concept to take into account for the industry: generating a good working environment. According to a WEF study (World Economic Forum) for every dollar invested in welfare, the return on investment is 2.97, in addition to the fact that the profitability of a company increases by a measure of 30 percent.
This is in addition to global analyzes that have shown that companies improve their productivity between 60 and 80 percent.
Also, the ranking The global happiness index of 2019 put Mexico in 23rd place worldwide and, after the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, it fell to 46th position, below countries like Brazil and Uruguay. In the Gallup consultancy index, Mexicans rated their level of happiness at work as 5,964, highlighting stress, work overloads and other factors.
In fact, currently, data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that close to 28 million workers suffer from job stress, burnoutproblems falling asleep, anxiety, depression and other conditions derived from work more than 60 hours a week.
