The Arena Ciudad de México, a venue for shows and entertainment, was temporarily closed on November 15 by authorities of the capital’s government for an alleged aggravated robbery. Members of the police and the prosecutor’s office entered the compound early Tuesday morning to seize documents and videos to investigate the alleged crime.
However, the closure of the property lasted less than 24 hours, as the authorities removed the suspension seals without making it clear what they were investigating.
In this regard, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, owner of the group that operates the Arena Ciudad de México, affirmed that the incident was due to “drunk, arrogant and influential” officials of the capital’s government and that the suspension was made arbitrarily.
On his Twitter account, the businessman recounted the events that happened inside the Arena and that began with a fight between individuals at a concert by the band El Recodo.
“The Arena Ciudad de México has already been left without the closure seals that the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office arbitrarily placed… but the story does not end there, we have videos and evidence of the exemplary conduct of the arrogant and influential DRUNK Gobiernicolas.”
“They forgot who I am!” said the president of Grupo Salinas.
This is the line of events below, according to the version given by Salinas Pliego.

They were attended by paramedics from Arena CDMX and ERUM, the affected person identified himself as Emiliano Azuceno, head of the ADIP and said he was a very close collaborator of the Prosecutor’s Office / Government Headquarters.
He threatened to sue the Arena because they beat him up and to send INVEA among other threats.
He was taken to the Ángeles Lindavista hospital where the CDMX Arena has covered the expenses.
23:02 A complaint of facts is raised before the MP

In the diligence they ask to review the area of G3 where the recordings are made.
They go through other areas of the compound that are not marked in the office and take the CCTV looking for papers in addition to getting into the cameras and taking pictures of the organization chart of the security company.
1:54 The company lawyer arrives and is not allowed to enter; After proving his identity, they let him go to CCTV… at the moment he tells them that this is not what they come in for the job, they threaten him that if he doesn’t come out they will make him available to the MP.
2:32 The agents begin to take out closure strips and seals and everyone is on the phone waiting for the signal to close the premises.
3:59 The lawyer appears before the MP of Azcapoztalco who tells him that he is going to proceed with the seizure of the property since he does not have a video expert at that moment and that the one they do have will appear until the next day.
He is allowed to secure the areas that come in the trade but Mr. says no!!! that the address is farms 800.
It is pointed out that farms 800, is the entire polygon, tec millennium, the slaughterhouse and others. Answer that the indication is to secure the CDMX Arena.
4:43 They remove all the employees from the CDMX Arena.
The arena stays in the hands of the agents (we keep an inventory of what’s currently there in case something is missing).
Salinas Pliego maintains that the closure of the CDMX Arena was an arbitrary act, through a CDMX government official, who allegedly participated in the fight, and used his influence to get the capital authorities to intervene.
“I trust that Claudia Sheinbaum is going to take action on the matter, it cannot be done that way… remember that there is no longer influence or corruption,” added the businessman on Twitter, endorsing the account of the head of government.
Likewise, he showed a TV Azteca report that recounts how the events he recounted would have occurred.
The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reported on Tuesday that it complied with a search warrant in the Arena Ciudad de México, located in the Santa Bárbara neighborhood, Azcapotzalco mayor’s office, following up on an investigation folder initiated for the crimes of robbery aggravated and injuries.
“The seized material was made available to the Public Ministry of the General Coordination of Territorial Investigation, who continues with the integration of the investigation folder,” added the Prosecutor’s Office, which until now has not ruled on Salinas Pliego’s statements.
