Kan, as the oil-producing well has been called, is located close to other important assets such as Zamaand the discoveries of Polok and Chinwol, two assets announced by the giant Repsol in 2020.
The company said in a statement that it will deliver a work plan to the regulator, the National Hydrocarbons Commission, in the middle of this year. He did not give details about what type of oil the asset holds or when it could start production.
The German Wintershall Dea also has an important participation – only behind the state company Pemex – in the Zama field, the first discovery made by private companies and which has resources of more than 900 million barrels.
