Instagram It has become one of the noblest social networks, safest and free from the toxicity that distinguishes other platforms such as Facebook or Twitter.
However, an undeniable reality is that, practically from its origin, the mobile app for Android has always had problems and details that keep it far from its counterpart for iOS.
In fact, during the first years of the application’s life, it was very common for the main news to arrive first for iPhone users, relegating the Android community to some point many months later.
Later, when Facebook-Meta bought the platform, that separation was erased little by little. Particularly when the new Stories feature was integrated to compete against Snapchat.
But it was precisely around those days that a bug or development detail emerged in the Android app that caused great discomfort among users.
This is a problem that has not been addressed for years, until now.
Instagram for Android no longer alters the resolution of photos and videos in Stories
The team behind the photography social network has just updated its Android app in the Google Play Storeand strangely enough, they’ve added a major change without making much noise.
It turns out that an updated and more robust section was added to the account configuration interface to manage mobile data consumption.
The strange thing is that there, in the middle of that section, for some reason, the urgent and necessary options were integrated to keep the quality and resolution of the photo and video publications of our Stories intact.
These are the steps to avoid lowering the quality of what we share in this section:
First of all it is absolutely necessary to keep the Instagram app updated to its latest version. So we must go to the Google Play Store and stay up to date.
After that, we open the app and enter our Instagram profile. From there we go to the Settings menu by tapping on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.
Once we enter Settings we tap where it says Account.
We will see a considerable number of options and it will be easy to get lost, but we must enter the Cellular data usage section.
Here by default data saving is disabled. To have access to the best one, it is necessary, for some reason, to turn on data saving.
By doing so we will see new options that condition under what circumstances our photos and videos will be uploaded with full resolution.
This is where we must point out that everything is uploaded with the highest quality, be it with mobile data or with a Wi-Fi connection.
And that’s it, with that we can finally share our photos and videos without low compression problems.
