Through a statement, Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, reported on the changes that would be done on the platform before the end of May, where the Marvel series would be removed from the system, as the company seeks a transformation in order to improve its streaming services.
“As we grew the business in terms of global presence, we realized that we create a lot of content that doesn’t necessarily drive sub-growth. We’re getting a lot more surgical about what we do. So while we’re looking to reduce content spin, we’re looking to decrease it in a way that shouldn’t have any impact on SOPs. We believe there is an opportunity for us to focus more on the actual secondary drivers (traffic and subscription),” said Bob Iger, CEO of Disney.
On the other hand, Disney+ is not the only platform that will undergo changes to its systemsince there are other streaming systems that are going to eliminate some of their content, such as Netflix and HBO+, which hope to have a better response from their consumers through their strategic changes.
