Since the introduction of EMUI 10, Huawei has done a great job updating the devices that make up its catalog to the new version at a good pace. In fact, today there are only a few terminals left to upgrade to the new version.
But not all Honor and Huawei devices are compatible with the new version of the software developed by the company. For some time now we knew that Huawei would have left out of its plans some of its less recent terminals, but until now we did not have an official list of devices that will not receive EMUI 10 .
Honor and Huawei phones that would not receive Android 10
The list in question has been prepared by the people of Huawei Central, based on the original planning announced by the company, and the statements that both Honor and Huawei have issued over the past few weeks. It consists of eight different devices, and they are the following:
- Honor Play
- Honor 9
- Honor 9 Lite
- Honor 8X Max
- Huawei Y9 2019
- Huawei Nova 3
- Huawei Nova 3i
- Huawei P20 Lite
The case of the Honor Play and Honor 8X Max draws attention, two devices that apparently should be powerful enough to run the latest available version of Android, but because of “hardware limitations” that also apply to the Honor 9 and Honor 9 Lite, are not compatible with this new version.
The same goes for the rest of the terminals, the Huawei Nova 3, 3i and P20 Lite, all of them launched in 2018, a year before the arrival of Android 10 and EMUI 10.
Nevertheless, Huawei says it will continue to update some of these devices with improvements in security and performance. However, I fear that those who want to enjoy EMUI 10 will have to make the leap to a somewhat more recent terminal of the firm.
