A company that has historically pioneered some of the most influential IP in gaming history, its more contemporary lineup of titles has hit some snags at the cost of delays and unforeseen events.
That said, Microsoft has recently attracted a lot of attention due to some extremely influential studio buys that have broken records. Now, with a much broader scope of content creation under the Microsoft name, there are plenty of Xbox games confirmed for 2023, or at least that we could expect to release this year.

One of the Most notable Xbox game releases confirmed for 2023 is Starfield. This game was announced as an open world action RPG focused on space exploration, offering a totally new next-gen experience. Starfield was originally scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022, although this has changed. Starfield has recently suffered a delay, with its revised release date now pointing to 2023.
Redfall, one of the Xbox games confirmed for 2023, also belongs to Microsoft as a result of the Bethesda purchase. This game is best described as a cooperative first-person shooter with a PvE focus. In Redfall, players battle a sinister vampire menace in the isolated island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, taking on a specific combat role as one of Redfall’s playable characters, each with unique abilities. Redfall is being developed by Arkane Studios.
Games that could arrive in 2023
Unfortunately both Starfield and Redfall were recently delayed and will now be released in 2023. But the way things look now, 2023 is going to be a great year. After the Activision acquisition is completed, another game that could come out under the Microsoft name in 2023 is Diablo 4, being published and developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Diablo 4 will be the long-awaited return of the famous franchiseBlizzard’s series of dungeon-crawling action games.
Official: Redfall and Starfield are delayed until 2023
Avowed joins this list for 2023. Avowed, a first-person fantasy role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. Originally announced in 2020, early fans could very well receive the title in 2023, given its current lack of an official release date. Although there are many other titles that are currently in development under the Microsoft umbrella, many of them currently lack solid information on their release dates.
However, with the expected Xbox and Bethesda presentation to take place on June 12fans could learn some big news about other confirmed 2023 Xbox games from Microsoft coming in 2023.
