It is clear that technology is advancing by leaps and bounds and improvements in Artificial intelligence they are leading machines to create things we never would have thought of. Now the data analyst Aleksey Tikhonov has programmed an AI capable of generate animated pixel art illustrations and the result is amazing. Could it be applied in video games?
Tikhonov has created a neural network which has the ability to generate pixel art with short descriptions, such as has indicated 80 Level. Most striking of all is that this AI can enliven your works a bit. This results in a kind of pixel art drawings with a very interesting retro air and, although the author himself admits that is in an experimental phase, this opens a lots of possibilities.

Maybe in future games with procedural generation and pixel art could be interesting to use this type of tool in some way. At the moment it is a unstable program, according to Tikhonov, but if this technology comes to fruition, we could be facing something revolutionary. It can also be useful for developers, because perhaps they can automate the process to make certain elements of the game.

At the moment, as we say, they are only tests of this computer scientist, but they are still really shocking. AI is evolving a lot and opens a whole range of options for a multitude of tasks. For example, Deep Nostalgia AI makes the faces in old photos move and in 3DGames We tested it with classic video game characters.
