In 2016 we saw how Miyamoto claimed to be in conversations to make Sheik the next protagonist of The Legend of Zelda. However, despite Miyamoto’s statements assuring that the development team was very interested in creating a spin-off of the franchise with Sheik of protagonist, it seems that they never made it to port, since five years later we still do not have any news. Now, however, we see that Nintendo really intended to make said game, thanks to a new leak of the company’s files.

The leak in question has been posted by Twitter user MrTalida, who got it from the website Unseen64. According to account in the tweet, a filtered document list show all games that Nintendo had in development in 2006, and as it appears in one of the lists, a “Action game with Sheik from Zelda: Ocarina of Time as the protagonist»Was in the project.

But this is not all. User @lombTV responded to MrTalida’s tweet showing project art. According to lombTV account, the game had been dubbed “Project X”, and at some point last year some of the Concept arts of Sheik and the world of The Legend of Zelda, in turn citing an article by Eurogamer 2020 in which illustrations are shown.

We don’t know if Nintendo will still have plans to release a spin-off from The Legend of Zelda with Sheik as the main character, but it wouldn’t be bad at all. We have already seen how well they work games like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Cataclysm, a title in which we put ourselves in the shoes of more characters besides Link. Who knows if in the future we may end up seeing a whole title with Sheik as the main character, or any other character from the universe of The legend of zelda.
