Toyota started this new year 2022 by expanding the range of the fifth generation of the most successful SUV with an unprecedented plug-in hybrid version that is already on sale. Now, the model introduces new equipment for 2023, which will help to strengthen its position and attractiveness in the market.

Now, with a view to 2023, the European division of the Japanese brand has presented a package of novelties that will improve the attractiveness of the RAV4 in the market compared to its rivals, without changes in the exterior aesthetic plane that remains intact, beyond a new pearl effect paint, the “Platinum White” that will be available with all model trim levels except RAV4 Adventure. A color that can also be requested in a two-tone combination with the roof in “Midnight Black” metallic.

The real news is inside, where the 2023 RAV4 debuts a new digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen, customizable based on four styles -«Casual», «Smart», «Sport» and «Tough» – and three designs. It is standard from the “Dynamic” finish, and 7 inches in the basic, half digital and half analog. The infotainment system is also new, adding a 10.5-inch touch screen positioned above the center console. The multimedia platform has a revised interface.
Now, it’s more intuitive and with faster control software in access to connectivity options and features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a voice assistant with natural language commands that responds to the input “Hello Toyota”, and wireless navigation map updates with real-time traffic information. The 2023 RAV4s also expand the “Toyota Safety Sense” on-board safety systems, highlighting the new pre-collision system.
Its operation has been improved with greater precision, at the same time that it includes the function of crosswalk support that detects pedestrians, cyclists and parked cars, activating the emergency brakes or avoiding them with emergency steering. An equipment that, in the case of the RAV Plug-in Hybrid, also vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians in the same lane. Where there are no improvements is in the mechanics, with 218 hp in the front-wheel drive Hybrid -222 hp in the all-wheel drive- and 306 hp in the plug-in hybrid.
