In the turbulent year 2020 marked by the coronavirus pandemic, the Ford Ranger reached a record annual segment share of 34.9%, ratifying itself as the best-selling pick-up in Europe. Despite this position as a benchmark in a competitive segment, Ford
she’s determined to boost sales of her popular model. For this, it has introduced two new and interesting limited editions to its range. It’s about the Stormtrak and Wolftrak versions.
The new Ford Ranger Stormtrak and Wolftrak They are ready to carry out their assault on the Spanish dealerships. These two new models are already priced and the order book will be opened immediately. The first deliveries are set for the end of this year or the beginning of next. But how are they different from the rest of the trim levels? Let’s go into detail.
Ford Ranger Stormtrak
The new Ford Ranger Stormtrak It is based on the Ranger Wildtrak premium series. It stands out for its unique finishes as well as the various comfort features with which it is equipped. A limited number of copies will be available, ensuring a high level of exclusivity. In addition, it will be available as Double Cabin and Super Cab.
It is quickly recognizable thanks to the exclusive Rapid Red exterior color for the body. In addition, it is complemented by a red grill insert, another characteristic feature of this model. You can also opt for these other body colors: Frozen White and Blue Lightning.
It is equipped with LED headlights and underbody protection. In addition, the badges with the name of this edition have been added. Between standard equipment you will find the loading surface liner, the load divider and the Power Roller Shutter.
Leaving aside the exterior, if we go inside we will find various premium specifications. The seats are specific and are upholstered with the same leather that we can find in the popular Ranger Raptor. The Stormtrak logo is embroidered and the upholstery is reinforced with technical fabric. Red stitching helps create a striking contrast, as do Graphite interior surfaces.
Under the hood of all Ranger Stormtrak models is a 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 213 hp and 500 Nm of maximum torque associated with a ten-speed automatic gearbox and a selectable four-wheel drive system as standard. It has a payload capacity of 1 ton and the maximum towing weight is 3,500 kg.
Ford Ranger Wolftrak
The new Ford Ranger Wolftrak It is especially intended for drivers who want solvent off-road capability alongside a bold exterior design. This limited series is based on Ranger XLT. It’s quickly recognizable thanks to the Conquer Gray painted exterior and the exclusive sport bar, which helps create a rugged look. In addition, it facilitates the assembly of accessories and the securing of the load.
Add to the body color the matte black grille and the underbody protection. It also boasts 17-inch black alloy wheels and sill covers. By the way, Ford offers an additional color for the body, it is the Sea Gray tonality. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Wolftrak badging is blacked out and the cargo floor has a protective coating.
The exterior aside, if we venture inside the new Ranger Wolftrak we will find this edition’s badges, an instrument panel and durable all-weather floor mats. Among the standard equipment is an 8-inch touch screen to operate the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
With regard to the section, the new Ranger Wolftrak is powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine with 170 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque associated with a Manual gearbox with six gears. Regardless of the transmission chosen, a selectable four-wheel drive system with on-the-fly shift function is available as standard. Also noteworthy are the electronically locking rear differential and off-road tires.
