Bluepoint Games would be in charge of making this remake.
It has been rumored for some time that there is in development a Metal Gear Solid remake by Bluepoint Games, now part of PlayStation Studios. At the moment there is nothing confirmed, but new sources suggest that this game could really come true and arrive in stores soon, only for ps5.
It is not that there are great indications in this regard, but the well-known insider and leaker AccountNGT assured through his Twitter account that There’s a Metal Gear Solid remake in development when asked by a fan (via comic book). He answered a simple “yes” without giving more details about it, but presumably the project he is referring to is the aforementioned game that Bluepoint Games would be developing. So far it is the strongest theory, let us remember that the study has previously been in charge of remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls.
In the absence of an official announcement from Konami and PlayStation, the status of the game is unknown and When would I have thought the stores would arrive?. Presumably it would arrive in 2023 at the earliest, if not we should already know something about the game, although it can also go further. We will have to wait for upcoming Sony events to find out specific details, if this project is real.
More Konami licenses for PlayStation
The latest rumors not only placed Metal Gear Solid in the hands of Sony with this remake of the first installment, Sony could have reached a deal with Konami to deal with developing new installments also of Castlevania and Silent Hill exclusively for PS5. At the moment there is nothing confirmed about it either, but seeing how little Konami wants to revive its franchises, it can be a good solution to see new games from these classic sagas.
