The new budget, according to the president, is 12,000 million dollars, 33% above the initial figure announced.
President López Obrador has recognized that the construction of the Olmeca refinery in Tabasco will exceed the initial budget announced by his government. This morning, the president placed the new cost of the work at 12,000 million dollars.
The new cost implies an increase of 33% of the initial announced price of 8,000 million dollars and which many analysts doubted.
The new figure is given one week after the state-owned Pemex complex is inaugurated and after Bloomberg revealed that the budget had been raised to $18 billion, more than double the initial announced cost.
