In 2021, the search for job opportunities for Argentine workers who provide services abroad increased to capitalize on their fees at the best exchange rate.

A 250% growth in this segment is recorded by Bitwage, a crypto salary payment platform, placing Argentina as the country with the most transactions in Latin America, with an average of USD 2,500 per month per freelancer.

Since the start of the pandemic, teleworking has grown almost 600%, according to data from the Ministry of Productive Development of Argentina. And the talents that seek to be able to serve companies abroad do not stop growing. This phenomenon and the constant growth of the crypto ecosystem have combined in favor of freelancers generating income in “crypto dollars” (such as USDT or USDC).

More data from a survey carried out by the hiring consultant Page Group, revealed that more and more Brazilian professionals receive their remuneration in dollars. The number of Brazilians hired by foreign companies grew by almost 20% in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period last year.

In addition to Brazil, Argentina, Panama, Costa Rica, Poland and the Philippines are others that are also advantageous for hiring professionals. Among employees, perks like a greater family coexistence, greater productivity and not having to travel to the officeare the most outstanding reasons for preferring the home office.

Proof of this growth is that Bitwage recently announced an alliance with the Casa and Edge wallets to expand its system for receiving wages and income with bitcoin. In addition, the company argues that it should make it easier for Latin Americans and residents around the world to receive payments in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

The survey also revealed that paying employees with cryptocurrencies has become increasingly consistent, with 15-20% of young tech workers preferring to be paid this way.

One of the biggest benefits is the speed. Cryptocurrency transactions are settled almost instantlycompared to traditional SWIFT transactions that can take days, if not weeks.
