Originally planned to debut in 2021, the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Huntt was delayed until the second quarter of this year. Sadly, fans of this saga will have to wait a little longer as CD Projekt Red announced that this title has been delayed again due to a change in its development, and now we do not know when it will be reaching our hands.
The news was confirmed via Twitterwhere its developers explained the following:
“We have made the decision that our internal teams will take over work on the remainder of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently assessing the scale of the work required and have made the decision to postpone its Q2 release until further notice.”
We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice. 1/2

Previously, SaberInteractive, who also made the port of The Witcher 3 for switchthey were taking care of their version next-genbut now it will be the internal teams of CDPR who finish it. Because of this, we will have to wait a while longer to find out its new date or release window.
Publisher’s note: Well, it is certainly disappointing, but on the other hand, it is preferable that CDPR take the time they need instead of launching a half-baked product that leaves fans dissatisfied. After all, the Polish studio doesn’t want to relive what happened with Cyberpunk 2077.
