Almost a year ago, the version of iOS 14 was released to the public. With it brought important news, like the ability to bring widgets to the home screen, or the new app library. However, some involved more than Apple’s willingness to be implemented, but also the interest of developers.
We talk about the App Clips, application fragments capable of executing certain specific functions and that are accessible with QR codes, links or NFC tags. These apps were shown as the next big leap for the App Store, since all the tasks could be solved with an App Clip. However, they still do not seem to finish taking off.
Apple, for its part, is trying to put them to good use in its own Apple Stores. There, codes to access an App Clip from the Apple Store are beginning to appear. And with them, the possibility of make quick purchases without the need to be attended by a specialist or download the full app.
As presented from 9to5Mac, it is a really simple process. Using the same quick payment system that already existed, now we will only have to scan the code that Apple has placed in the accessory areas. Once the App Clip is downloaded, we will simply have to scan the barcode of the product and pay instantly.
Of course, this process is not available for products such as an iPhone or a Mac, but we can use it with all kinds of accessories. Y we will not need to download the Apple Store app every time we go to the store. Simply with the App Clip we will have enough to be able to make quick purchases and get those covers that have caught our attention so much.
