We had to wait up to the eighth iteration so that Microsoft decided to change the design. The Redmond giant is the example of compatibility even in hardware since from Surface Pro 4 the keyboard cover has been compatible with new generations up to Surface Pro 7+. However, the eighth was the charm and the new redesign is now available in Spain.
You can now buy the new Surface Pro 8
With the new design, the first thing we notice is that the screen has changed, goes from 12.3 inches to 13 with a frequency of 120Hz no change in device dimensions. The borders around the screen are eliminated to enjoy more content as it happened in the Surface Go 2. In addition, for the first time Microsoft is betting on two Thunderbolt 4 ports as some of you have pointed out in the past.
Of course, the shortage of components has meant that when the Surface Pro 8 disembarks in Spain and Italy, the new generation of Intel processors has already arrived. But this is not to say that the eleventh generation of processors is useless. These make the most of Windows 11 being the first with an architecture similar to ARM’s big.LITTLE.
This time we have 13 possible hardware combinations between platinum and graphite colors. Starting from an Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD to an Intel Evo Core i7, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Prices start at 1,179 euros and go up to 2,679 euros.
We are glad to see how Microsoft has finally dispensed with configurations with i3 or M3 processors as well as 4GB of RAM. The next step in the right direction is offering a 256GB SSD configuration. We only have a configuration with 128GB and the difference of 100 euros makes it unnecessary to bet on such low storage.
