The Leon brand has just presented its first two 100% electric compact models. The new Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW are a reality. Available in five doors and family, they arrive in mid-2023 with a wide autonomy of 400 kilometers.
Peugeot launches the total electrification of the compact segment. The Leon brand already has two plug-in hybrid versions in this new generation of the 308, a couple of options as powerful as they are efficient, although not so much with the new ones. 100% electric versions that those of the Lion have just revealed.
The new ones peugeot e-308Y e-308 SW, are presented with the same sporty and elegant design as the combustion and PHEV versions, highlighting the large grille that occupies the front part, although the design of the closed air intakes of the bumper are oppositely different from the rest of the versions. Also, 18-inch alloy wheels are specific of this version. The rear end is virtually unchanged compared to the PHEV versions, apart from the corresponding emblem on the e-308 tailgate, which maintains the exhaust trims integrated into the skirt.

Inside, there are no big differences between the new Peugeot e-308 and the conventional versions of the 308, beyond the information shown by the two large digital screens that occupy the dashboard and the center console, the latter with nothing less than 10 inches. The Peugeot e-308 will have complete standard equipment due to its electric condition, associated with the “Allure” and “GT” levels, with the following elements

- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Matrix LED headlights
- Adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Monitoring of objects in the blind spot (within a radius of up to 75 meters)
However, what has come as a surprise is the appearance of this 100% electric option on board the 308 SW family. The Leon brand ensures that neither of the two models loses habitability or volume in the cargo space, thanks to the EMP2 platform. Both models are equipped with a front electric motor with a maximum power of 156 hppowered by a battery with a net capacity of 51 kWh, with a chemistry of nickel, manganese and cobalt, which offers a maximum autonomy of 400 kilometersand it is rechargeable at fast charging points of up to 100 kW of power.

The new Peugeot e-308 only need 25 minutes to recover 80% of the total capacity of the battery, thanks to its on-board charger with a power of 11 kW. In addition, they have a driving mode selector – the “ECO”, “NORMAL”, “SPORT” and “BRAKE” – to manage the use of energy, the latter especially for braking and the regenerative system. The new Peugeot e-308 will go on sale mid 2023so there are still a few months to learn more about prices and features.
