At the end of last year the e-208 range underwent a major overhaul. Several optimizations were introduced that allowed autonomy to be increased by 6.5%. The autonomy of the new Peugeot e-208
The “heart” of the new e-208 is a new 51 kWh lithium-ion battery (48.1 kWh useful) that operates at 400 volts. The main purpose of the battery is to power a new motor with 115 kW (156 hp) and 260 Nm
of maximum torque. Compared to the current model it is 15 kW (20 hp) more powerful.
The autonomy reaches 400 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. The autonomy improvement reaches 10.5%. Peugeot places special emphasis on the fact that it declares a low energy consumption of only 12 kWh per 100 km. Through a driving mode selector you can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport profiles. Depending on the selected mode, efficiency or performance will be prioritized. It is also possible to increase the level of energy recovery when releasing the accelerator pedal.
As far as charging times are concerned, they will vary depending on the electrical outlet used. The new e-208 has two on-board chargers. As standard, it is equipped with a 7.4 kW single-phase charger and, optionally, you can opt for an 11 kW three-phase charger. It also accepts fast charging, being able to use a 100 kW terminal to complete the recharging process from 20% to 80% in less than 25 minutes.
Release date and prices of the new Peugeot e-208
When will it hit the market? Peugeot has confirmed that the new e-208 will land at European dealerships in 2023. At the moment their prices are unknown. The model that we can currently find on the market is available from €34,170.
