BMW has launched the marketing in Spain of the long-awaited plug-in hybrid variants of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The new generation of the German minivan is now available in 225e xDrive and 230e xDrive variants. It boasts a 100% electric autonomy of up to 85 kilometers.

In its first commercial stage, the new Series 2 Active Tourer has only been available with gasoline and diesel with powers of 136 CV, 150 CV and 170 CV respectively. The 170 hp petrol engine is electrified with 48-volt mild hybrid technology (MHEV). well now BMW has decided to expand the offer by introducing the expected plug-in hybrid powertrains (PHEV).

BMW has opened the order book for the new 225e xDrive and 230e xDrive plug-in hybrid variants. Both stand out for offering a high level of performance and efficiency. Logically, the great attraction offered by these plug-in engines is the possibility of enjoying 100% electric autonomy. An electric range that has been increased compared to the previous model.
The new BMW 225e xDrive
It develops a power of 245 hp and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Thanks to a lithium-ion battery with a net capacity of 14.2 kWh, it can travel up to 85 kilometers in electric mode. One step above is the new BMW 230e xDrive. In this case, the total power is around 326 hp and it can complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The electric range also reaches 85 km according to the WLTP cycle.

The two plug-in hybrid powertrains feature a four-wheel drive configuration and are driven through a Steptronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
