Visiting the capital city, does nothing more than make clear the size of the country in which we live, a territory that contains almost everything possible, it is futile to narrate about something that this map does not contain, extensive borders to the north, two countries to the south , coasts bathed by oceans, gulfs, appendages of land that undoubtedly achieve outstanding aesthetics in each world map that is printed; all this condensed in the tottering city of Mexico.
The atmosphere. A couple of auditoriums full of murmurs, two spaces in which there was no permission for silence, the tacit invitation of the speakers to participate regarding each topic exposed on stage. Sitting next to some of the future creative minds of our country, being in a place where chronologically you no longer belong, listening to the voices of those who for me are the only likely blank page, yes, the ideas of the young people attending each conference, there are few spaces like the one that MERCA2.0 magazine created in these two days in the south of the city.
The protagonist. The innovation, that little was subscribed textually in the panelists, was in my opinion the one who took the crests of the event; in many of the participants, notebook in hand, this aroma inherent to the new and unpublished was perceived. This is precisely what innovation smells like, it smells of not knowing, and seasoning this lack with the concern of possessing what is foreign through each exhibitor.
The thread. Each statement, in each of the many gatherings inside and outside the halls, in each conversation of the attendees, the narrative of this 2022 congress was motorized; the vigor of each mouth translating and decoding what was attended in each conference was distinguished as the main intangible asset of this event.
The conflict. Deciding who to listen to, the number of stories within the history of the congress, the challenge of meeting as an apparent first time after the pandemic, the idea of this post-pandemic stage. Where are we standing? And I am not talking about physical space, but about what is known as “Timing”, a concept that does not have an exact translation into Spanish, the non-explanatory diagnosis of the panelists will have to do with the uncertainty, not of knowing where we are going, but of understanding the real effect of the pandemic in the world and of course in this country.
conclusion. Let’s hope the paradigm of the hero’s journey is respected, in this case innovation as the protagonist of this narrative will surely emerge as in most fictions, and will lay a net, which, although it will not be a rescue, will at least provide the possibility of anchoring to her, to navigate with some of those who best understand this.
