Microsoft has taken the services market very seriously in recent years. With Xbox Game Pass already established in the market, those from Redmond have been focusing their efforts on making xCloud an increasingly complete service, as evidenced by its arrival on Samsung televisions. However, this is only one of the steps that the company is going to take, since now We have known what will be the first games that can be played by xCloud without being in Game Pass.
In this sense, it must be remembered that, to date, the only games that had a cloud game version were the titles that were part of the Xbox Game Pass catalog. However, the company announced a few months ago that was working to bring the first games that can be played by xCloud without the need to be subscribed to the serviceand it seems that the Microsoft Store has leaked some of those games.
The Microsoft Store filters the first games that can be played by xCloud without being in Game Pass
The first of the games that can be played by xCloud without being in Game Pass seems to be Elden Ring. In the publication made by MondoXbox, we can see that the game is available as an xCloud compatible title, despite the fact that it is not in the Microsoft subscription service.
xCloud gaming usage increased 1800% in the last year
In this regard, it is important to point out that this does not mean that Elden Ring will end up on Xbox Game Pass soon. It is simply the expansion of the service that Microsoft announced a couple of months ago, and that, at least for now, only finds support in the browser version of xCloud.
However, the game developed by From Software will not be the only one that can be played through xCloud without being in Game Pass. As we can see in the following tweet shared by IdleSloth, there are at least four other games that will be playable via xCloud in the near future.
As we can see, these are really important games, such as Call of Duty: Vanguard, Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and WWE 2K22. This implies that those from Redmond seem to have reached an agreement with the different companies in the industry to offer a Cloud version of their titles in the company’s streaming game service.
xCloud will add keyboard and mouse support, among other new features
We will have to see if in the next few hours or days more games continue to appear that we can play through xCloud without the need for them to be in Game Pass, but there is no doubt that the Microsoft service continues to grow, and it seems that in the coming months will be even bigger.
