The Mercedes EQA will undergo a facelift in 2023. The star brand’s compact electric SUV poses in some spy photos, facing technical tests as a complement to the facelift. Changes that seem very discreet, but of great importance.
Mercedes spends billions in the development of its new models and in all areas, with one important objective: that face washes cost you as little as possible and save as much as possible when it’s time to mature in the market and you need to refresh your image to maintain attractiveness. Costs are the key, and in electric cars even more so, than all brands boast.
And in Mercedes they are not less. This is why this facelift is so interesting. Because if we compare it with the GLA, which is also undergoing a makeover, the star’s compact electric SUV only has the grille panel camouflaged, freeing the headlights and taillights. And if you look at the spy photosnot even the front bumper presents new features, being the same defense of the “Progressive” and “Electric Art Line” finishes.

However, the German brand has taken care to cover the space of the grill very well with a very smooth panel, which suggests that the main change will be precisely this piece, leaving aside the panel with the two thin horizontal bars that extend transversely and hold the star. Instead, EQA 2023 will adopt a smooth shiny black polycarbonate surface studded with little stars.
A detail that it will inherit from the new Mercedes EQS, EQS SUV, EQE and EQE SUV, bringing it into line with these new electric cars. Another novelty will be the removal of the “EQ” emblem located under the base of the windshield pillars, on top of the front fenders. No more changes are expected on the outside, although inside there will be news. As in the GLA, the touchpad control of the transmission tunnel is dispensed with and the multifunction steering wheel will also be renewedas seen on the A-Class Facelift.
Where there will be no big news is in the range of versions. The Mercedes EQA is offered in four versions, although the firm will improve some aspects of the chassis, the power delivery of electric motors and driving modes, with the aim of increasing efficiency without reducing performance. The revised Mercedes EQA will arrive mid 2023.
