The BMW M3 Competition is today the most radical and sporty version that the Bavarians offer in the D segment, but it will not be the definitive one. The latter will be much wilder and will arrive in 2023 with the exclusive M3 CS. For those who are waiting for this option, the Germans from MANHART Performance have an alternative that leaves it in nothing, the MANHART MH3 GTR.
Those of BMW M have plenty of potential to take the BMW M3 CS to a really brutal level of power and performance, but they will not reach the limit that the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 will offerr. According to the information we handle, and waiting for the star to be presented, we can almost say that it has gotten out of hand in terms of power. The Bavarians are preparing a more radical option that will see the light of day next year, the M3CS.
those of MANHART Performance They know that the rivalry between both models will be maximum, but the one from Munich will not reach the level of the one from Affalterbach, so they have presented their own alternative. Its about MANHART MH3 GTR, a true beast that promises almost unmatched sensations on board for the icing that is yet to come, and despite the fact that it is based on the BMW M3 Competition, leaving this sports saloon in the mud. The German specialist tuning has come out with this new preparation.
MANHART MH3 GTR, almost a wolf in sheep’s clothing
Aesthetically, it retains the characteristic features of the M3 Competition, betting on small details to make it more striking, integrating a exposed carbon fiber spoiler on the lower lipand also adding some fine fins at the ends of the bumper to divert airflow from the sides of the bodywork. The side skirts are new, with an extension under the rear doors once again to shed drafts, while at the rear the diffuser between the exhausts draws as much attention as the fine spoiler on the edge of the boot lid.
The trainer also offers a package of springs and shock absorbers that lower the height of the suspension, offering large 20-inch six-spoke alloy wheels on both axles. They are mounted on tires Michelin 265/30R20 front and 295/30R20 rear, which leave no one indifferent. MANHART has not retouched the brake system, which can be in-house carbon-ceramic, but can be done at the customer’s request. Inside, there is no special decoration, but it does draw much more attention for the two front seats: exposed carbon, bucket structure and supplied by Recaro.
Under the hood it’s raw brutality. The 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 510 hp and 650 Nm of torque in the M3 Competition comes to nothing when its “MHtronik” engine control unit is mounted. That is when it becomes the MANHART MH3 GTR, raising these parameters to 650 hp and 800 Nm. Really bestial figures, but in which the new AMG C 63 will move. The crown is the option of mounting a stainless steel exhaust, with a more powerful sound, and with four 100-millimeter tailpipes sheathed in carbon or ceramic that dispel all doubts that it is not just another M3.
