    Warner Bros. wants to take advantage of The Lord of the rings is trending again thanks to The Rings of Power and announced the release of Peter Jackson’s original trilogy NFTs. Warner signed an agreement with Elluvio, a company specialized in blockchainto create an NFT of The Fellowship of the Ring in its extended version. The announcement represents the studio’s first step in its intention to create a movie metaverse.

    The NFT of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring will not only include the extended version of the film in 4K HDR, but exclusive material such as image galleries, behind the scenes and collectibles in augmented reality. Users will be able to access the content through an interactive menu modeled after a key place in the film. These include the Shire, Rivendell, or The Mines of Moria, where we’ll zoom in for more details.

    While access to bonus material such as documentaries, art, director’s commentary is available for years in the physical versions of the trilogy, Warner Bros. plans to adapt them to the new era and, incidentally, jump on the NFT train. The proposal is sell them as a limited edition in two variants: Mystery Edition and Epic Edition, each with different features, price and availability.

    Both include the film and more than eight hours of additional material, images and collectibles. The Mystery Edition, $30only offers access to one of the three menus that is randomly assigned, while the Epic Edition, $100, not only includes the three menus, but also concept art and galleries with exclusive images. The first will be limited to 10,000 copies, while the second will only be limited to 999 copies.

    The launch of the NFT The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is the first step for Warner Bros. in its quest to create the WB Movieversean online store that will include other titles from the studio. According to Jessica Schell, vice president of the WB, the dangerous will allow users to buy, sell, or trade NFTs from the movies.

    Warner believes that this release will offer a different experience to what we were used to. Unlike the trilogy, which we can buy on Blu-ray 4K and includes all the additional material, the NFT offers a more interactive and allows the studio to sell collectibles in the form of smoke to surprise the unsuspecting.

    To buy it, you must create an account with Eluvio to assign a digital wallet and then purchase the content. The film can be enjoyed on all types of devices and you will have the option to stream it to your TV via AirPlay or Chromecast. Warner Bros. will release the NFT version of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring starting tomorrow in some countries.
