Video games canceled from The Legend of Zelda saga
The Legend of Zelda 3: At the time, it would have more RPG and science fiction elements, using ideas discarded from the original Zelda. A magician and a fairy would be added to Link as main characters, also offering structures from multiple worlds.
Zelda 2: The remake was intended for the Super Famicom, the Japanese SNES. Here Link was a character created with polygons: sword fighting elements would be added, but ultimately not realized. Of course, many ideas were used in the jump to 3D titles.
