Chickenpox can seriously affect a baby. Find out how you can alleviate the affectations of this disease.
The chickenpox has become a disease so common that it has become part of the things that sooner or later, will have to happen to our children. However, the importance of preventing and treating it properly should not be ruled out.
The consequences of chickenpox can be really serious if we do not pay special attention to it. This is the case of the little Elijah Burke, who with only 11 months old was infected with this virus.
Kayley Burke, the mother of the little one, has shared on social networks the photos of her baby, which show the strong injuries that chickenpox can cause, such as burns and rashes, in addition to confessing that Elijah is very weak and that it was necessary to enter him to the hospital so I can treat him.
More than oversight of the mother, Elijah was infected with chickenpox because in Australia, the country where they reside, the Department of Health recommends vaccinating children up to 18 months of age.
However, the mother wanted to share Elijah’s photo to raise awareness among other parents so that they vaccinate their little ones in time.
Chickenpox care
It is true that most children will get chickenpox sooner or later. To prevent the disease from having major consequences if it has been acquired, we recommend taking the following measures:
Warm water baths: You must constantly groom your baby. In your tub, prepare a solution with baking soda or oatmeal. You can also apply antipruritic ointments or lotions.
Nails: Perfectly trims and cleans your nails to prevent injuries from getting worse and becoming infected. You can also put cotton gloves on it.
Diaper: try to make your baby spend the most time without a diaper to make him feel more comfortable. Also dress him in cotton clothing to prevent his skin from further irritation.
Diet: try to keep your diet soft and drink plenty of fluids.
Avoid exposing your baby to the sun or humidity.
Babies and young children are often distressed that they cannot go outside to play and remain in quarantine. So try to entertain him with his favorite cartoons, and spend more time with him doing various home activities.
