Ford has presented in Great Britain an interesting and attractive police version of its new electric crossover. The new Ford Mustang Mach-E police car concept is a test vehicle developed to offer this variant to the various British police forces.
The new Ford Mustang Mach-E has just landed in the UK in a right hand drive configuration. Ford’s new electric crossover promises to be one of the most interesting models in the electric D-SUV segment, although it is also running as a fleet vehicle, as is the case of the models expressly modified for the security forces, the well-known police patrol vehicles.
The British division of Ford has presented in that market an interesting prototype of its new electric crossover in police version, endowed with aesthetics and all the elements typical of this type of model. This receives the provisional name Ford Mustang Mach-E police car concept and for the moment it is only a prototype, although it already has its final configuration and all the necessary modifications for this function.
The brand’s intentions with this prototype are those of use it to offer this modified variant to the various British police forces and for this reason they have not limited themselves to putting a few stickers on the plate of a copy of the electric crossover, since we are facing a real model equipped with the modifications and equipment necessary to fulfill its work as a police vehicle.
Prototype
This prototype has already been tested by 7 UK police departments according to the brand’s statements, so we can expect that within not too long the police Mustang Mach-E will become part of the usual urban scene in several British locations.
This prototype has been transformed by the same company in charge of all similar Ford modifications in Great Britain, Safeguard SVP. The prototype is based on the Standard Range version of the Mustang Mach-E in its all-wheel drive configuration., although the company has already confirmed that it plans to offer it also in the Extended Range version in its variants of one and double engine, with rear and all-wheel drive, respectively. One of the few technical details that have emerged is that the emergency lighting system is connected to the 12-volt battery instead of the battery pack that powers the engines, so it does not reduce autonomy.
