When Tesla announced that the Model 3 and Model Y were going down in price in Europe, it was a matter of time before other manufacturers did the same with their electric vehicles. The last to join has been Ford, which recently reported that the Mustang Mach-E will have a reduction of up to 11,616 euros. Undoubtedly, a considerable figure and whose mission is to boost sales of the SUV in the region.

Ford follows in Tesla’s footsteps
Early in the year, Ford’s communication regarding a possible price cut on the Mustang Mach-E was somewhat confusing. During January they confirmed their intention to lower the cost worldwide. However, weeks later they backed down saying that there would be no changes in that regard.
Now, finally, they decided to go ahead with the initial promise. The fact that the Ford Mustang Mach-E drops in price also has to do with the recent decrease suffered by the Tesla Model Y, one of its direct competitors.
Those led by Elon Musk lowered the base version of the Tesla Model Y from €51,200 to €48,200. Unlike the Ford Mustang Mach-E, however, they did give a significant discount on higher models. Specifically, the long-range Model Y went from €65,990 to €53,400, while the Model Y Performance went up to €59,990 (previously €70,000).
