The Ford Focus ST becomes a more radical and dynamic sports compact thanks to the introduction of the new Track package in the range. A package that allows you to adjust the agility and performance of the Focus ST on the track. It is available for the five-door body variant.
Fans of the Ford Focus ST and lovers of circuit driving now have the opportunity to get their hands on a true beast on wheels. A more dynamic and radical model. Ford has announced the introduction to the Focus ST range of the new Track package.. It has been developed by Ford Performance and the testing ground has been none other than the German Nürburgring Nordschleife track.
The new Focus ST with Track package will be available at Spanish dealerships exclusively with Hatchback body (5 doors). The most practical and familiar option has been left aside. The order book has been opened and the first deliveries are scheduled for next November. In addition to Spain, it will be marketed in other European countries.
The keys to the new Ford Focus ST with Track package
Drivers who equip the Focus ST with the Track Package will be able to configure the responsiveness for track driving with a adjustable coil suspension system from KW Automotive. It has stainless steel shock housings that offer 12-step adjustment for upward response and 16-step adjustment for rebound. The two adjustment modes are key to adapting the behavior to the circuit.
This suspension works in accordance with 19-inch alloy wheels that are up to 10% lighter than the serial ones. They are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and reveal the braking system signed by Brembo. The front discs are larger than those fitted as standard, and the calipers sport a striking red colour.
In terms of design there are also novelties. The Focus ST exterior styling gets even more sporty and radical with the Track package. The rear spoiler, rear diffuser and front bumper wings are finished in high-gloss agate black. A finish that we can also find on the upper front grille and the exterior rearview mirror housings. Contrasts with the body color.
The engine of the new Ford Focus ST with Track package
Regarding the mechanical section, under the hood of the new Focus ST Track there is a 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with 280 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque. A block associated with a six-speed manual gearbox and a front-wheel drive system. Thanks to this mechanism, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
Ford’s sport compact performance is enhanced by features such as flat-shift capability that keeps the throttle open when the clutch is disengaged during upshifts. The electronic limited-slip differential allows up to 100% of the available torque to be redistributed to the wheel with the most traction. And as if that were not enough, through the driving mode selector you can make the most of the capabilities of the mechanics. Track mode provides a sharper response.
