A few days ago the exit flag was given for the first tons of mexican avocadoor that will be consumed in the Super Bowl LVII. The Association of Avocado Exporters Producers and Packers of Mexico (APEAM), in the company of the governor of Michoacán Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, gave the flag to the shipments of the first 64 thousand 101 tons of the so-called green gold.
Symbolically, the governor gave the “initial kick” to the export of Avocados from Mexico which, promoted by Avocados From México®️ (AFM), will fill the US market in February.
At the Casa APEAM facilities, the president explained that “this season the confidence of foreign producers, packers, and consumers is recovered, increasing the number of tons for export, seeking to export 130,000 in this important season for avocados. This initial kick symbolizes that this industry is always thinking about its final market, its consumer.”
Mexican avocado, the favorite of the Super Bowl
The Mexican avocado has its best sales season in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, the biggest party in American Football. This year, the LVII edition will be held on Sunday, February 12.
According to a statement, the number one selling avocado brand in the United States is Avocados From Mexico. This year it is expected to exceed the shipments of 2022 with more than 100 thousand tons of avocado.
“We are in American football season, we hope that there will be more impact of the avocado on the tables of consumers in the United States. It is worth mentioning that our avocado will be the only fresh product present at this great event, for which we are very grateful to everyone because the avocado industry is number one. We are an example of organization, work and effort to improve living conditions”, mentioned the president of APEAM José Luis Gallardo.
The Mexican green gold
The Mexican avocado is the leader in production and export worldwide with one million 676 thousand tons. Mexico exports avocados to 34 countries, while Michoacán and Jalisco stand out for being the only States that can export to the United States, as well as Canada, Japan, among others.
“In the United States they know it very well: good guacamole is only made from Avocados From Mexico, there is no other avocado in the world with this quality, with this flavor, with this sensation of gastronomic richness that the avocado from Mexico has,” he concluded.
