Most of the time, Epic Games Store it gives away free games for its users to claim for their digital libraries once a week, but there have been times when it has broken that pattern.
Sometimes the Epic Games Store it gives away games daily, like it does during its mystery game promotion every December, and other times it keeps giving away premium content in free-to-play games instead of giving away a full game.
It looks like that will be the case with the gift of the Epic Games Store for August 18. While it’s possible that a new free game will be added to the catalog between now and then, for now, the only thing EGS users can count on is free content for the Rumbleverse.
Rumbleverse, for the uninitiated, is the latest free-to-play game published by Epic Games. It’s a battle royale, not unlike Epic Games’ Fall Guys and Fortnite offerings, but with a melee, pro wrestling-themed approach.
Technically, the Rumbleverse launches today on multiple platforms, but Epic Games Store users will have to wait until August 18 to claim their gifts. On that day, Epic Games Store users will be able to claim the Boom Boxer content pack for Rumbleverse, which includes a boxing headset, gloves, t-shirt, swimsuit, and shoes.
Additionally, Cook, Serve, Delicious 3 is free to play on the Epic Games Store from August 11-18, while Rumbleverse Boom Boxer Pack will be free from August 18-25. Since Epic Games has said that free games will continue throughout 2022, we know fans can expect a new giveaway of some kind on August 25.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Epic Games Store’s August 25 giveaway is a free game or free content for a free-to-play game.
