The league 1 It has become a championship full of uncertainty, disputes and problems throughout all the weeks, due to the conflict over television rights. This last Friday the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) decided to suspend the meeting between Lima Alliance and Cesar Vallejo, alleging lack of guarantees for its transmission. After that, the La Victoria club issued a statement regretting what happened and addressed its fans to explain the mechanics for returning the money for the tickets purchased.
“The Alianza Lima Club regrets the rescheduling imposed by the Peruvian Football Federation for its match against César Vallejo University on date 5 of League 1. All fans who purchased tickets for this match may use it for the rescheduling comparison or in any case access to the refund of the money, a process about which we will provide information in the coming days”, begins the message of the ‘Intimates’.
Taking into account that the cancellation of the commitment that was going to be played this Saturday, February 25 at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium not only affects the club, the statement was also addressed to those families who are forced to cancel their commercial activities, the which are commonly developed around the property located in the Matute neighborhood.
“We are very sorry for the prejudices that this suspension may generate in the millions of Alianza Lima fans, as well as our solidarity with the thousands of families whose economic income is affected due to the commercial activities that they carry out around each game and that this arbitrary measure of the FPF directly affects”, they add.

The FPF’s argument was that, after having communicated with Alianza Lima to coordinate the entry of the cameras and operators of ‘1190 Sports’ –a company that has the authorization to broadcast Liga 1 matches–, it did not receive the response expected within the indicated period. For this reason, considering that there were not sufficient guarantees for the transmission of the duel, they decided to reschedule it.
“The Alianza Lima Club did not provide a response to said letter within the period indicated in the document, and despite the opening granted during the day by the FPF to show an official position, it did not show willingness to grant guarantees for the correct development and transmission of the match”, says the FPF statement.
three games suspended
The meeting between Lima Alliance and Cesar Vallejo It will not be the only one that will have to be rescheduled by the FPF, but also those that were going to be played in Cusco –Binacional vs. Sporting Cristal– and Arequipa –Melgar vs. Sport Boys–. The affected clubs have shown their discomfort considering that this measure by the highest governing body of Peruvian soccer has been arbitrary and goes against their sporting interests.
