Luis Herrera, head of the Latin American region of Procore, believes that the construction industry, in particular, will rebound this year, derived from the growth of the retail business sector and the arrival of new industrial buildings in various regions of the country.
According to Stock Market Report 2022 of Grupo Financiero Monex, Mexico is in the top three of the countries that have the best characteristics to meet the necessary criteria for the nearshoring, among which the following are considered: the natural resources available, the relative change in the trade balance, the cost of energy production, the capacity and scope of the labor force, in addition to the commercial blocks with developed countries, among others.
Thanks to his experience in the sector and his career within the construction management software company, Herrera pointed out that in 2022, 40% of construction in Mexico presented considerable development as a result of the relocation of Asian companies, mainly of suppliers for companies in the United States and Canada.
Another of the variables for economic development at the international level is inflation, however, the head of the Latin American region of Procore was optimistic, since he assures that despite the fact that the costs of materials rise (affecting the public and private construction), the trend will continue towards growth, mainly due to the implementation of digitization.
