The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, announced this Monday that next September 20 will be end to time restrictions in hotels and nightlife, as well as capacity limits in cinemas and theaters. Madrid therefore takes the lead over the rest of the country in relaxing measures to curb the pandemic, also expanding the number of diners on terraces from eight to ten.
After the initial disagreements between the Ministry of Health and the different autonomous communities at the beginning of summer, with the end of the last state of alarm, each autonomous government has been adapting the restrictions with measures consistent with the incidence of the coronavirus in their territories. Madrid was one of the Communities that rose up against the initial Health Plan, accusing the Government of invading powers.
In relation to the relaxation of the restrictions, Díaz Ayuso has stated that his intention is to “keep moving forward” in that opening “if the situation continues to improve”, as until now seems to indicate the evolution of the data of the fifth wave of the pandemic in the Community of Madrid and throughout the country.
As of September 20:
– Time freedom for hotels and nightlife.
– End of capacity restrictions in cinemas and theaters.
– Expansion to 10 diners on terraces.
