One of the big questions posed by the Disney + series Obi-Wan Kenobi is which of the most important characters in the saga will include his story. After all, this is a journey through the dark years of Obi Wan Kenobi, after surviving Order 66 and his exile on Tatooine. The premise is so broad that it can be assumed that the expected meeting between Darth Vader and Kenobi will take place. Also that the characters who became of interest in the convulsive period of total domination of the Empire come back to the stories of the canon.
And one of the most intriguing alternatives could be the return of Emperor Palpatine. The character, played by actor Ian McDiarmid, was one of the surprises of Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker. In the plot of the film, the presumed dead, the Emperor returns as a fateful presence in the shadow of the original evil of the plot. The caveat surprised fans by the surprising and inexplicable quality of it.
But in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, the possibility seems to be more certain and consistent with what is narrated within the argument. Especially when his second installment made it clear that Darth Vader would appear in a major plot twist. So the big question is whether we will be able to see the fateful figure of the definitive villain of the saga again.

However, the same actor hinted that there will be no surprise appearances of his character in Obi Wan Kenobi. The statements occurred during a Star Wars Celebration panel, in which the interpreter made it clear that they did not “expect” to see their Sith Lord in person in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Named appropriately Ian McDiarmid: An Audience with the Emperorallowed the actor to clarify doubts of the fans.
“You will remember the first Star Wars movie later titled A new hope. The Emperor was present, or his presence was felt. But he never showed up,” McDiarmid told attendees “Then, more recently, in rogue one, his presence was felt, but he never appeared. So all he would say about future speculation is, if he expects the Emperor to appear in the flesh soon, don’t get your hopes up.”
McDiarmid played the Chancellor and then Emperor Palpatine in nine films, beginning with return of the jedi in 1983. He is one of the most emblematic characters in the saga and also the symbol of the vicious power of the Empire. However, it appears that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will not feature the monumental strength of the dangerous Sith in its storyline.
