In October 2021 the word “Metaverse” came to light when Mark Zuckerberg showed the world “Horizon” Meta’s commitment to virtual worlds. From that moment the eyes of the world turned to see these platforms that are currently already dozens of them, with millions of users entering each month.
It should be said that virtual worlds are not something new, I remember having entered Second Life in 2006 and this platform inspired all that we currently have.
- 5 brands that are already in the Metaverse
Although there are currently many brands within the different metaverses, I am going to mention some that really planned their entry and are making a difference in the different virtual worlds.
- Raven Tequila
This is an interesting project launched by Casa Cuervo for their José Cuervo tequila, where they created a virtual distillery in the Decentraland metaverse. The architecture of this project is what stands out from the start, as it is truly spectacular and seeks to exalt the roots of the agave, while bringing tequila to new audiences.
- Heineken Silver
This project surprised many and is inspiring other brands to follow in its footsteps.
Heineken created in the Metaverse of Decentraland “Heineken Silver” the first virtual beer, which is accompanied by a virtual bar with music and activities for visitors.
- Adidas
Adidas bet heavily on the Metaverse, in recent months it acquired several pieces of land within the virtual world The Sandbox, it launched an NFT collection in collaboration with Punks Comics, Gmoney and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

- Sotheby’s
From 2021 NFT art became mainstream at auctions. Sotheby’s house played a crucial role in making this happen. He opened a virtual gallery, with the same image of his famous London gallery, within the Decentraland metaverse. The virtual gallery opened with an artwork by Robert Alice, while various artworks by famous NFT artists were on display.
- Samsung
The South Korean company has opened a virtual version of its flagship 837 store in New York, but inside Decentraland. The 837X virtual store serves as a showcase for the company’s latest announcements; the pretext was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. 837X has three areas: the Connectivity Theater, the Sustainability Forest and the Customization Stage.
This is just beginning, I am sure that in the coming months we will see more brands within virtual worlds.
